Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is a condominium complex composed of four beachfront residential clusters developed by Yale Properties Development of Boca Raton within the gates of the Resort at Longboat Key Club from1989 to 1991. It was Yale Properties’ first real estate venture in Florida's west coast, an auspicious debut that progressed to two other local condominium developments: L’Ambiance also in Longboat and L’Elegance in Lido Key. 

Located on an 18-acre site, the Sanctuary combines five residential structures into a community of 181 high-end residences, definitely standouts in the Longboat Key luxury condominium market. Besides its wonderful beachfront location, this community also sits directly across west of the scenic greens and fairways of the Links on Longboat (formerly Islandside), one of the two golf courses on the barrier island of Longboat Key.

Each of the four Sanctuary residential clusters has its own homeowners’ association board of directors, besides the association board members for the whole community. Owners of a unit in this condominium can rent it out on a minimum of 90 consecutive days limited to one lease per year.  

Sanctuary homeowners can keep pets weighing less than 30 pounds, but renters are not allowed any pet.

Exclusive Amenities

This community features a guarded entry gate manned 24 hours and an onsite management staff. The amenities within the Sanctuary include a heated swimming pool and spa, a smaller children’s pool, walking/jogging trails, and two lighted Har-Tru tennis courts. Each residential building, except Sanctuary 1, has a card room. 

Residents socialize at a clubhouse with a fitness center, dining areas, party room, and catering kitchen. They can also use any of the condominium complex’s two access walkways leading to the beach. In addition, the Sanctuary’s buildings provide private elevators, secure under-building parking areas and personal storage lockers.

Additional amenities are available as well for Sanctuary residents who opt for a membership at the neighboring Resort on Longboat Key Club. Besides the golf links, its five-star facilities include social and dining venues for casual and formal occasions. Additional life and leisure possibilities are as easily accessible, given the Sanctuary’s location at the southern end of Longboat Key which is in close proximity to St. Armands Circle and downtown Sarasota.
