Queens Harbour

Formerly known as Manchester Bay, Queens Harbour is a well-established waterfront community at the northern end of the gated Bay Isles development on Longboat Key. A Boca Raton-based developer initiated homebuilding in this property around the mid-1980s. Market response to it picked up after a world-renowned British developer, Taylor Woodrow, later took over and renamed it Queens Harbour.

Woodrow’s superb hands showed in the marvelous layout of the home sites, harnessing to its fullest the property’s idyllic location fronting scenic Sarasota Bay. A quaint water fountain, tree-lined streets and manicured landscaping lend enchanting curb appeal to the community’s residences.

Two small lakes and deep-water canals were also dredged at Queens Harbor, further enhancing the home choices in this high-end, exclusive enclave. Water birds frequent the community’s lakes, adding to the charms of living in this community.

Queens Harbor homes for sale, over the years, has become a leading choice for wealthy buyers looking for a warmer second home during the winter months. With its “sailboat water” feature, this community has also won over upscale, sea-loving families.

Upgrades Make Homes Like New

Upon build-out of Queens Harbor in the 1990s, it flaunted many residences located facing the bay, lakefront or canal-front, with others cozily nestled inland amidst fabulous landscaping and walking trails. This masterpiece of a waterfront community now features 102 high-end single-family homes with varied floor plans ranging over 2,000 and more than 4,000 square feet.

Most residences are two-level homes with vaulted ceilings and expansive windows inviting in beautiful water views. Prospective buyers covet most those Queens Harbour homes for sale which have been upgraded to include contemporary residential styles, modern appliances, and electronic upgrades.

Some homes include boat docks on navigable water adjacent to Buttonwood Bay with easy access to the Gulf of Mexico. Other homes back onto the two interior lakes or the Longboat Key golf course with mesmerizing greeneries.

As a whole, the residences in this community also draw buyers because of their maintenance-included features. Advantageous for seasonal residents, the Queens Harbor homeowners’ association takes charge of outside maintenance as well as repainting the residences every five years.

The association is also known for its management efficiency, charging stable homeowners’ fees and maintaining financial reserves to avoid unprogrammed assessments. For grounds and lawns maintenance, the community has an irrigation system from deep wells, simplifying home ownership and minimizing costs.

Bountiful Amenities

Bound by the love for a quiet and laid-back waterfront setting, the residents of Queens Harbour have a high sense of community. There are plenty of nearby facilities for bonding among families and neighbors. Besides a heated community pool and spa, residents have deeded access to the gulf-front Bay Isles Beach Club. Its exclusive facilities include a private, white sand beach, picnic areas, beach volleyball court, showers, and restrooms.

Opting a membership to the Longboat Key Club brings even more life and leisure possibilities. Also woven right within the Bay Isles enclave, the club provides a marina, facilities for dining, tennis courts, and a 45-hole golf course. Its links also serve as a refreshing backdrop to some of Queens Harbor’s residences.

The community’s main access roads, Bay Isles Parkway and Harbourside Drive, conveniently link with Gulf of Mexico Drive to further broaden residents’ lifestyle choices. The Shoppes at Bay Isles, anchored on a Publix Super Market, is but minutes away from Queens Harbour.

Taking the Gulf of Mexico Drive corridor either north or south leads to premier choices of shopping and dining locations, such as those in St. Armands, Bradenton, and Sarasota, which too are very much part of the joys of living in Queens Harbour.
