Longboat Key, Florida | July 20th, 2017 – The Judy Kepecz-Hays Team joins the Longboat Key community in welcoming the much- anticipated inauguration of the Zota Beach Resort which opened June 23rd. It was supposed to open in December last year in time for the season but this was pushed back due to construction delays typical of a major project like this luxury resort hotel.
All the wait is worth it though, as its developer, the Delray-based Ocean Properties, again created a masterpiece in Zota Beach Resort. The $24 million that this company poured on this project shows in the superb features of the resort, from its hotel building’s modern architectural touches to all the upscale facilities that it offers.
Filling Up Hotel Room Loss
Zota Beach Resort’s accommodations and amenities are truly impressive additions to what Longboat Key has to offer. It not only boasts of 187 newly renovated rooms on the former site of a local Hilton but also offers 84 rooms in a newly built tower. Notably, the latter accommodations fills up the 250 rooms the town lost from between 2004 and 2008 following the closure of town’s Holiday Inn in 2003.
The resort’s features are definitely high end starting from the reflective pond that seamlessly extends from the exterior of the lobby to its interior. This new hotel likewise flaunts a chic dining venue in its Viento Kitchen & Bar which offers a menu showcasing the culinary arts of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, as well as Florida’s. In addition, Zota Beach Resort provides a 2,700-square-foot beachfront event space and an outdoor pool area for its guests.
Town’s Economy Benefits
Given these strong tourist draws, Ocean Properties’ investment in the redevelopment of the former Hilton site, for sure, can contribute significantly to the town’s economy. Zota Beach Resort can likewise provide added value and market interest to residential properties particularly those around it.
The additional stimulus that this resort brings to the town’s economy makes us optimistic at the Judy Kepecz-Hayz Team that we would be seeing more interested buyers, as well as sellers, engaging the local property market. In particular, we are looking forward to a more vibrant market activity at the Positano condominium which is less than a mile north of the Zota Beach Resort and where our team has a listing of a three-bedroom residence priced at $3.2 million.
Active Condo Market
This June and July, we saw two Positano sales at just about the same price range for two condos also each with three bedrooms and living areas of more than 3,000 square feet. Our listing in this boutique condominium has roughly the same square footage and plenty of features that favorably compare with those found in five-star resorts.
Our market reading also indicates that selling is poised to further level up at Longboat Harbour, a condominium a short distance south of Zota Beach Resort. Since the start of this year, about a dozen condos were sold in this sprawling property located on the block of 4310–4454 Gulf of Mexico Drive, and new sales listings here are on the rise as well.
Check out with our team at Judy Kepecz-Hays if you are buying or selling a residence in this area or anywhere on Longboat Key. Let our decades of experience in the real estate industry work for you in bagging the best deal in the market.
